He had always dreamed of owning his own restaurant, and in 1967 Robert Baltierrezâ's dream became reality. By the early 70s, Taco Boy began serving homemade, tex-mex fare to hungry Grand Rapidians at it's freshly opened Plainfiled Avenue restaurant. After years of success, Baltierrez decided it was time to retire. In 1999, he sold the restaurant to his daughter, Anita Heavner, who is still the owner to this day. And Taco Boy is still Taco Boy, just as it was over 40 years ago.
Taco Boy's Famous Hot Sauce can only be found here.
